Have you decided to embark on a new adventure-filled experience in Isla Contoy and are planning everything to make this visit unforgettable? Keep reading! In this post, we’ll tell you everything you need to bring and how to prepare for your visit to one of the most paradisiacal islands in all of Mexico.
Choose fresh, light-colored fabrics. Since it’s an island in the middle of the sea, the weather can be very warm and humid. Similarly, due to prolonged sun exposure, it’s recommended to wear light and light-colored clothing.
These are perfect allies for enjoying the refreshing waters of Isla Contoy. Choose one that makes you feel comfortable during your visit. After snorkeling and exploring, you’ll need your towel to dry off and continue the island tour.
Not only do they prevent you from carrying extra pairs of sandals (or risk losing one to the sea), but they’re also ideal for walking on the beach, exploring, swimming in the Caribbean waters, and protecting your feet from small crabs on the shore.
Bringing a hat and sunglasses is a non-negotiable for this trip. It’s a perfect way to protect yourself from the sun without using harmful products like sunscreen, which is strictly prohibited to protect the island’s ecosystem.
Staying hydrated is essential, as is avoiding waste during your time on Isla Contoy. Bring a reusable water bottle you’ll also be able to refill it on board. Remember, there are no shops on the island as it is a protected area, so buying water isn’t possible.
A must-have for capturing the beauty of this natural sanctuary without harming the environment. Consider purchasing a waterproof case or bringing a GoPro to protect your gear. Hosts and guides on the island are not responsible for damage or loss.
Bring a portable charger. The trip is short, but Isla Contoy is so stunning that we’re sure you’ll be taking photos nonstop, both on the way there and back. Don’t miss a single spot—capture every photo without worrying about your phone or device running out of battery.
